Subject: Message
from the President of IHEU
This is
a message for member organizations of IHEU (International Humanist and
Ethical Union)
We are
aware that Suresh Lalvani has sent emails to a number of organisations
and individuals, saying that IHEU had received a legacy. He gave an
amount and made some suggestions as to how it should be spent.
The IHEU
EC would like to inform you that no legacy has been received. We are
however hopeful. If IHEU should receive a substantial legacy it would
indeed be great news and the EC, which is elected by and accountable
to the General Assembly, would decide how such money was spent for the
furtherance of IHEU’s aims.
Mr Lalvani
left IHEU’s employment more than a year ago. The EC asks you to be
cautious about believing rumours circulated by individuals who are no
longer directly involved with IHEU and its affairs, as they are not
speaking for IHEU nor do they necessarily have access to correct information.
If we
do receive a legacy we will inform our member organisations. Meanwhile,
we wish you all happiness during the festive season and a peaceful new
year.
Sonja Eggerickx
President
