While undergoing
post operative treatment after the cancerous mass was fully removed
along with 3/4th part of my stomach I was presented with a book of saying
by Mahatma Gandhi by a very dear friend of mine to spend my idle time
pondering over the great sayings of Gandhi and contemplating how they
could be practiced in our life. I have watched many times the film by
Sanjay Dutt on Gandhiji’s wisdom starting with Christ’s
“when you are beaten on one cheek show the other cheek!” When the
other side found that Sanjay Dutt does not react the person was beaten
up. Gandhi aphorisms were looked up and there were no instructions
as to what should
be done if the second cheek was also beaten up.

As nothing was
explained Sanjay Dutt resists the beating and man handles the person. This is
also one of the sayings of Ratnakaram Satya Narayana Raju who is called
as Satya Sai Baba without legally changing his name. Another one is
the three monkeys see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. I tried
to see how I could practice this aphorism. Some one is murdering his enemy,
some one is raping a woman, some one is sexually abusing children, someone
is accepting money for public charities and using it for
self propaganda and self agrandisement instead of charity,
when 6 murders took place in the bedroom of Ratnakaram Satya Narayana
Raju and hundreds of other deaths should we close our eyes because it
is evil or confront the evil doer? In the guise of free treatment kidneys
are stolen and patients are forced to pay for the medicines, in the
guise of free education when it is given only to rich who can afford
to pay and not to the poor and the trust receives donations from them;
in the guise of village reconstruction money is spent on the lands of
the trusts, free food given to those who live in the ashrams without
pay and the trust take advantage of them without paying minimum salary
for the works; in the guise of charity the donations received for public
charities like water schemes where the expenses are exaggerated, and
calling for donations even after the scheme is completed and inaugurated, misused
to present imported cars, gifting flats, diamond necklaces, rings etc
to the officials of the government, judiciary, ministers and the influential
who are exploited for personal gains and protection from illegal
activities and law should we close our
eyes so that we do not see the evil, hear the evil or speak about the
evil. I am wondering how evil could be wiped out from the earth, and
around us we see only good, hear only good and speak only good. I wish
someone would explain.
Since
long I have not been able to express my views on many questions asked.
I am trying to answer the questions by counter questioning. There was
a conference in Nagpur on Hypnotism titled Hypnosis is a vital tool
to cure patients. This was the view of Additional Commissioner of Police
(crime) and Prof. Shyam Manav of Akhil Bharatiya Ardhashraddha Nirmulan
Samithi, Nagpur. Amongst the people who discussed about Hypnosis they
did not produce any research papers.
Sometime
back when I visited Nagpur I had a debate with Shyam Manav who then
was treating patients and the outcome of the debate was that not a single
patient was cured. About hypnosis one question is enough to prove that
hypnosis and the belief around it is false. To prove the power of hypnosis,
the hypnotist hypnotises a person and taking a glass of cold water
suggesting him that the water is boiling hot and the person throws away
the cold water glass expressing that his fingers have been burnt. It
is now your turn to take a glass of boiling water and request
the hypnotist to give the glass to the hypnotised person suggesting
that the water is cold and watch what happens when he touches the glass:
whether his fingers would get burnt or whether he will feel the boiling
water is cold.
