Dear Mr.
Premanand
My apologies
for being late to respond to your letter of Nov.27 last. I have been very busy
and also overseas for a month. I thank you very much for sending me your books.
I regret that
we did not meet during some of my journeys to India. On one of them I was even
in Podanur-Coimbatore.
My attempts to
investigate Sai Baba took place during eight trips to India in the years 1973 to
1983 when I made my 1st visit. I then had long discussions with Prof.
Narasimhaiah, one other member of the "Miracle Committee" and a secretary to the
Committee but unfortunately your name never came up. If I had been aware of your
work I would have visited you.
You ask 64
questions. To answer them would require a great number of pages and I do not
have time for that now due to other pressing duties. Instead I am mailing you
air mail the USA edition of my book on Sai Baba. It was first published in
Germany in 1986, then in UK in 1987 and just this year in USA. My title for the
first English edition was a quote from Sai Baba "Miracles are my visiting cards"
but the USA publisher insisted on a different title "Modern Miracles" which I in
the end accepted on the condition that the subtitle "an investigative report on
psychic phenomena associated with Sathya Sai Baba" would be prominently
displayed. In my book you will find answers to some of the questions you raise
in your letter.
When did you
meet Sai Baba? Were you able to interview him? How often could you observe him
at close range?
I would much
appreciate any comments you have about the contents of my book and hope that we
will stay in touch.
With my best
wishes and hoping that we meet one day and discuss our findings and observation.
Yours
sincerely,
Erlendur
Haraldsson.
